Is it going to be
weird?
Visiting a new place can be
scary , especially when religion is attached to it. Here's
a play-by-play of Sunday morning service to help take
some of the weirdness out of it.
Come on In You
will always be greeted by friendly people with bulletins.
They can help you find any place you need. There is an info
center in the middle of the lobby.
Have a Seat
Sit wherever you want in the main auditorium. Nobody bites
and there are no assigned sections.
Lets Get Rolling At
10:30 am, the band starts playing some high energy music.
If you don't know the words, we have them displayed on the
movie screen right up front.
At various points between
the singing, we move around and greet one another, have a
time of prayer for individual needs and make announcements
for upcoming events.
Pass the Plate We
collect an offering every Sunday. Visitors don't feel obligated
to give anything. Instead, we ask you to place a visitor card
in the bag when it's passed by. Somebody usually plays music
or sings a song while this happens.
The Message Pastor
Alan will take the stage next to talk for a little while.
His messages are down-to-earth and conversational. He doesn't
scream at us and shout "You're gonna' fry!" or anything
like that. He just talks to us about topics that affect our
daily lives. While he talks and reads from the Bible, Pastor's
notes and Scripture verses will be displayed on the movie
screen up front. This makes the lesson easy to follow.
After Pastor's message, he
invites us down to pray about the things he discussed. We
give everyone who wants to pray time to come forward. This
is a serious time to look inside our own hearts.
The band will come back and
play softly during this time. Sometimes, Pastor Alan will
dismiss us with a prayer. Most times, we just visit for a
little bit and leave when we are ready.
